Wooden Creations

Day 55.
Wooden Creations

There are lots of cool things that people make and sell in locally owned shops all over this country. I think handcrafted gifts that you know someone put their time into (as opposed to something mass produced) have a special character and are really unique. I know of a shop where everywhere you turn you find something like this...whether it's the jewelry, the baked goods or the woodworking, you always feel you've gotten something made with real heart.

There's something really wonderful about finding gifts that have local origins. I feel like there's a story behind pieces like the ones we just saw from Amish Country Commons in Palatine Bridge, NY (www.amishcountrycommons.com). Big thanks to Dave and Pam for showing me what you have made!
