More Knitting (aka Don't Look, Mom!)

Day 54.
More Knitting (aka Don't Look, Mom!)

Remember a few weeks back when I was just trying my hand at knitting for the first time? Well, I'm pleased to report that I caught on quickly and have finished my very first project, a scarf which I will be giving to my mother for Christmas. I know she appreciates the effort that goes into hand crafted gifts like this because for my birthday last year she custom designed and hand latch-hooked the most amazing rug for me...it required over 36,000 individually hand latch hooked pieces of yarn and took her over 180 hours to complete. While this scarf didn't take nearly as much time, I'm proud of the fact that my first endeavor came out successfully...

Now that I've picked up on the skill of knitting, I think I'm ready to try another yarn craft...I'd like to learn to crochet. I have it on good authority that there is a company in Maine, Quince & Co. that makes wonderful yarn for crocheting. They can be found online at quinceandco.com. I enjoyed looking at their assortment of yarns (categorized by bird names, which I thought was quite clever) and patterns for creating beautiful projects. Before too long I hope to share my first crocheting with you as well.
